Sharing this announcement from Nancy Glowacki:
Engage Or Evade? Insight Or Fight? Happy Or Right? You Choose!
• What? This workshop is open to any and all of We the People who are seeking satisfying concrete ways to communicate effectively and safely with each other in times of strong discord in our democracy.
• How And When? Exciting Conversation/Workshop group held at the library, April 2 –May 28. A 9-Week Participatory Event (1St Week, April 2, Wed. 6-8 PM Active Orientation Overview of the program.) If you decide to continue, you can then purchase the book and attend the next 8 weeks of workshop from April 9-May 28. LIMIT 24.
• Why? “Healing The Heart Of Democracy,” a book by Parker Palmer, will guide a group of 24 and spark a new, timely, much needed conversation focusing on what connects us together and what separates us and learn how to bridge the gaps regardless of our personal beliefs ! A serious topic but still always room for fun too!
• WHO? Palmer says “Democracy depends on citizens who not only engage with the political process but also engage with each other”. We create a safe place to create a “politics” (i.e a people’s governing framework) worthy of the human spirit. No partisan talk..no labels…just a desire to listen, learn and communicate together from each heart.
• YOU! An “everybody read” book and an “everybody take part” talk. A touchy trigger subject takes courage and willingness to express our deepest questions and thoughts.
• As John Denver sings “Your heart to mine, my heart to yours…talk about opening windows, talk about opening doors.” We can do this! Best investment ever of heart and time!
• WHO? The group will be guided by Nancy Glowacki and Rondi Boyer of Wolfeboro, both experienced facilitators committed to creating a safe place of learning and sharing this challenging book written for this moment. Register below to come; we’ll see you there!
• YOU! To register, please call or text Nancy at 828-606-5201 (a NC area code) or email . Register your name, phone, text, email. Participants will decide to commit and purchase a book/materials for $15.00 on orientation night on April 2.
Note that this is a nonpartisan event. Wolfeboro Democrats is not a sponsor of this event.
