From 603 Equality:
We face a very challenging political environment this year, with a small number of increasingly bold anti-trans voices encouraged by federal executive orders. We’re so sorry to have this bad news to share: the New Hampshire House just passed HB 148, designed to remove transgender and gender nonconforming people from public life via a bathroom ban and an expanded sports ban – by a vote of 201-166.
Starting at 9 a.m. tomorrow, the State House will vote on:
HB 377, which would ban puberty blockers and hormones for trans young people, making families subject to a felony for accessing best-practice, doctor-prescribed medical care
HB 712, which now bans every possible gender affirming surgery anyone could receive, in addition to breast surgery (more commonly known as “top surgery”)
Also tomorrow, the full Senate will vote on:
SB 268 and SB 38, nearly identical bills to HB 148.
SB 96, another forced outing bill
SB 211, expanding anti-trans sports discrimination to college athletics
Once passed by the House, these bills are very likely to be passed into law by the Senate and Governor this year.
To express to your state representative(s) and all state senators your response to the anti-LGBTQIA bills just passed and to the votes to take place tomorrow, SEND EMAILS NOW.
Then join us at the State House TOMORROW, Thursday March 27, from 8 – 9 AM to tell State Reps and Senators:
Don’t Criminalize our Care! Trans People Belong in Public Life!
